A workshop on the ‘Student Health Management System’ was held in Delhi Public School, R.K.Puram on 15th of September 2010. A DPS Society initiative, it was attended by 60 teachers from various Delhi Public Schools. Doctors, Counsellors and technical experts were also present. Dr.(Mrs) Usha Luthra, Member of DPS Society and DPS R.K.Puram Managing Committee chaired the workshop.

The Student Health Management System is an attempt to keep a record  of  each student’s health. Not only the physical aspects of the child like height and weight but also psycho-social data would be recorded. The Principal, Dr.D.R.Saini welcomed Dr.Luthra and the participants. Dr.Luthra addressed the gathering and stressed on the importance of such a health record since health occupies a priority while dealing with any aspect of a child’s life.
This interactive workshop was the culmination of many sessions to perfect the health module so that a clear health record could be maintained of the student from nursery to XII standard. A presentation of the Health Card and how it works was shown followed by a hands-on training session where teachers learnt how to operate it individually on the computer.

The workshop was a fruitful one and many queries regarding entry of information and the working of the Health Card module were resolved.
