The Business Studies Department of Delhi Public School, R.K.Puram organized a workshop for school teachers on the 18th of September 2010. The objective was to discuss measures to update the teaching methodology of Business Studies. Around 20 teachers from various schools attended the event. Eminent experts from the NCERT conducted the workshop -Dr. Minoo Nandrajog, who has been associated with the NCERT for the past 22 years as a Reader in the Department of Education in Social Sciences and Humanities; Dr.G.L. Tayal, an Associate Professor in the Department of Commerce, Ramjas College, University of Delhi with a teaching experience of 36 years and Dr.M.M Goyal who has been associated with Delhi University for the last 36 years and is currently teaching at PGDAV College.

The Workshop was conducted in three sessions. The first session was held by Dr Minoo Nandrajog who emphasized on the Case Study approach in teaching Business Studies. The session was a thought provoking one as she took up Case studies on TRAI and Mining and Business Environment where core issues in business environment were explained. The second session was taken up by Dr Goyal who discussed Capital Markets and Capital structure and the final session was by Dr Tayal who took up various topics in Management ranging from Scientific Management , Barriers in Communication to Delegation of Responsibility.

The event, coordinated by Mrs.Rashmi Malhotra, Head of Business Studies Department and her team of teachers at DPS R.K.Puram, was a very fruitful one as it provided a common platform of discussion for teachers across the city and was a great learning experience.
