ADMISSION NOTIFICATION FOR CLASS XI (10+2) : 2009-10 |
DPS R.K. Puram is a day-cum-boarding school for both boys and girls. Seats in the school hostel are limited, and are granted only to meritorious students. Preference will be given to students (boys/girls) seeking hostel accommodation. Admission to the hostel will be granted for two academic years i.e. 2009-10 and 2010-11 (Classes XI & XII). No withdrawal from the hostel is allowed during the above period. All hostellers are required to pay the hostel fees in advance, as per the schedule given below. No refund will be made during mid-session withdrawals. Please also note that hostellers are not permitted to take any private tuition / coaching classes outside the school premises. |
Eligibility Criteria for Registration
|
Applicants must secure a minimum of 85% marks in the aggregate (5 main subjects i.e. English, 2nd Lang., Mathematics, Gen. Sc. and Soc. Studies) for Registration to the Science Stream; and 80% marks in the aggregate for Registration to the Commerce & Humanities Streams. There will be no entrance test and admission will be granted on the basis of merit after the declaration of the Class X Board Results and will be followed by an interview with short-listed candidates.
All short-listed candidates are required to bring all their testimonials alongwith a copy of the Board Mark Sheet, duly attested by Gazetted Officer, and the original Mark Sheet for verification at the time of interview.

A demand draft of Rs.40,000/- made in favour of DPS R.K. Puram, payable at New Delhi, is to be submitted towards 1st installment of school fees by both Day Scholars and Boarders. |

A separate demand draft of Rs.1,35,000/- is also to be submitted in favour of DPS R.K Puram, payable at New Delhi, towards hostel fees, for the year 2009-10. A separate post dated CBS Clearing/Delhi Clearing/At Par cheque of Rs.1,15,000/- dated 01.04.2010 is required to be submitted in favour of DPS R K Puram, towards hostel fees, for the year 2010-11. |

Documents and other essential items to be submitted |

i) |
Enrolment forms for admission to the School / Hostel duly filled by the
parents. These are available on the school website. (Applicable for all
students who have been granted admission). |

ii) |
A copy of the Board mark-sheet, duly attested. Kindly bring the original for verification. |

iii) |
Conduct and Character Certificate from Head of the Institution last attended |

iv) |
Three passport size photographs of the student, and two each of both father & mother. |

v) |
Transfer Certificate (in original), duly countersigned by the Inspector of Schools of the respective area, to be submitted during the 2nd week of July 2009. |

vi) |
Attested copy of residential proof. Any one of the following can be submitted:
Voters Card / Identity Card / Driving Licence / Passport / Telephone / Electricity bills. (Original documents are to be produced for verification).

Medical History of the candidate. The form can be downloaded from the school website. |

Immunization certificate/attested copy of vaccination card from the doctor. |
INSTRUCTIONS FOR HOSTELLERS ONLY |
Before a student joins the hostel, the following documents / formalities (including information on the student’s weekend visits and outings) must be completed on separate forms, which are available online. |
a) |
An authority letter from the parent, giving details of two persons, who will act as local guardians, with their names, addresses, contact telephone nos. and their photographs for identification. Such persons must also submit in writing that they will permit their wards to stay with them during sickness. They should be married, have a residential address, are employed, and live in a family set-up. No student will be permitted to become a local guardian to a hostel student. |
b) |
A health certificate regarding medical history etc. must be duly checked and signed by the family doctor/school doctor, parents and the concerned student. If a student is allergic to any medicine or has any special medical requirements, please mention it in the medical certificate. |
c) |
School/hostel uniform requirements must be met by the parents. A list of articles of clothing and other items, are available in the Hostel Rules booklet. |
d) |
A letter of indemnity against any damage, sickness, accident etc. caused in the course of the normal functioning / activities of the school, must also be submitted. |
e) |
It is obligatory for the parents/LG to attend PTA meetings and interact with the hostel wardens. The dates will be notified at a later stage. |
f) |
Parents / LG are required to leave a telephone number and address in Delhi, for immediate contact, in case of any emergency. |
g) |
Both the local guardians should be present at the time the student reports to the hostel. |
h) |
The no. of photographs as mentioned below, must be submitted by the hostellers, as part of the admission formalities. |

INSTRUCTIONS FOR DAY SCHOLARS |
|
The school provides transport facilities, but there is no guarantee that a seat in the school bus will be made available, when the buses are full to capacity, or do not ply in the area of residence. Transport once provided will not be discontinued during the academic session. |
| INSTRUCTIONS FOR BOTH BOARDERS AND DAY SCHOLARS |
1. |
All candidates selected for hostel accommodation, will have to undergo a medical check up by the school doctor, before completing the formalities for admission to the hostel. |
2. |
Hostellers will not be allowed to take any private tuition/coaching classes outside the school premises. |
3. |
The selected hostel students will report to the hostel warden between 2.00 p.m. to 6.00 p.m. on 5th July 2009 to 6th July 2009 (However, school will make necessary arrangements for those who have booked their tickets as per earlier announced dates). They must bring their personal clothing and all essential items with them, as per the hostel rules. |

The Principal will address the hostellers on 7th July 2009 (Tuesday) at 4.00 p.m. (Girls) and 5.00 p.m. (Boys). All parents and local guardians are requested to
attend.

5. |
It is mandatory for the local guardian to take complete responsibility for his/her ward in time of sickness / emergency / week-ends / holidays and travel etc. |

Only married couples, living in a family set-up, with telephone facilities, will be allowed to act as local guardians. |
| 7. |
The above-mentioned schedule is subject to change if the Board Results are delayed by the C.B.S.E. for any reason. |
| 8. |
In case candidate fails to turn up on the above-mentioned specified dates/timings, any claim for admission from the candidate will not be entertained. Kindly follow the timings and dates given above. |
| 9. |
The school administration reserves the right to offer admission to suitable candidates only, since there are limited seats in all streams. All decisions of the Admissions Committee regarding admission, will be final and binding. |
| 10. |
Regular classes will begin for all the 3 Streams (Science / Commerce / Humanities) w.e.f. Thursday 9th July 2009. |
