D.P.S. R.K. PURAM AT THE TOP OF THE CHARTS

It gives me great pleasure to share with you the stupendous performance of our students in securing admissions to the most prestigious universities worldwide. This year, the school has secured the largest number of international admissions and broken all previous records.

SETTING NEW RECORDS

The students of the school have already secured 354 admissions, as compared to 166 admissions secured last year. These admissions have been obtained in all the top-notch universities of the world namely, Stanford, Caltech, Cornell, Brown, Princeton, Yale, U-Penn, Chicago, Boston, Berkeley, Johns Hopkins, NYU (Abu Dhabi), Duke, Carnegie Mellon, Emory, George Washington, U.I.U.C., University of Washington in St. Louis, U.C.L.A., U.S.C., Drexel, Rice, Parsons, University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, Embry Riddle, F.I.T., Brandies, Claremont McKenna, Texas Austin, Cambridge, Warwick, Imperial, Sheffield, Aston, Bristol, Toronto, Waterloo, University of British Columbia, McMaster, McGill, University of Hong Kong, Erasmus, Maastricht, I.E.D. in Rome, University of Auckland, to name just a few. Many more results are awaited from Singapore, U.K. and Canada.

The international admissions this year have increased remarkably, in all the countries i.e., in the U.S. Canada, U.K., Europe and Hong Kong. In the US there has been an increase of almost 100 admissions, in the U.K. the students have secured 61 more admissions, Canada has seen the admissions double from 6 to 29, and for the first time, students have gained admission to universities in Hong Kong and Netherlands, with 9 and 5 admissions, respectively.

The most note-worthy accomplishment of the school has been that this year, our students have secured admission to 100 universities in the United States, as compared to 53 in the previous year.

Another outstanding feature has been the admissions granted to our students by Drexel University in Philadelphia. This year, 23 students have secured admission, as compared to 17 in the previous year.

OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE SCHOOL

  1. Out of the 10 students from India granted admission by Cornell University, 3 are from DPS R.K. Puram. They are : Shriya Patnaik, Divya Balaji and Ratnika Prasad. They have also been selected as Cornell University Tata Scholars and are the honoured recipients of the Tata Scholarship for students from India.

  2. Out of the 8 students from India granted admission by Princeton University, 3 are from DPS RK Puram. They are : Sarthak Gupta, Sukriti Chadha, Asavari Sodhi and Prerna Ramachandran. Sarthak, Sukriti and Prerna have secured admission with 100% aid, and Asavari has been granted 81% financial aid.

EXCEPTIONAL PERFORMANCES BY OUR STUDENTS

  1. Nayani Balbir Singh of Class XII (2010) has secured admission to the prestigious 7-year Accelerated Medical Programme at Boston University – the first ever granted to an Indian student after class XII (CBSE).

  2. Jahangir Khan of Class XII (2010) has been awarded two very prestigious awards by Canadian Universities.   The University of British Columbia has awarded him the International Leader of Tomorrow Award with 100% scholarship, and he is the only student in the world to have been selected. He has also been awarded the University of Toronto International Scholarship – again a 100% scholarship – and is one of the 2 international students to receive this award.

  3. Abhishek Mehra of Class XII (2010) has secured admission to New York University at Abu Dhabi with 40% merit scholarship. He was the only student selected from 80 short-listed candidates from the CBSE Board in India, and one of the 4 selected from Asia.

  4. Viddhi Malhotra of Class XII (2011) has been selected for participating in the prestigious Oxbridge Programme at the University of Cambridge – the first-ever admission of the school.

  5. Karanveer Mohan of class XII (2011) and Shubham Goel of Class XI hasve been selected to attend the Stanford University Mathematics Camp 2010, Program I, scheduled to be held from 11th July – 8th August, 2010. Only 20 students have been selected from around the world to attend this programme. Shubham has also been granted US $ 4000 financial aid.

These results prove beyond doubt that DPS RK Puram is a trail blazer in International admissions and the harbinger of new records. It school has broken all its previous records and set new ones. And as a treasure trove of scholastic excellence, it remains at the top of the charts.
